Duncan rues missed opportunities for Kotoko

Asante Kotoko head coach David Duncan has expressed disappointment about his side’s failure to convert the chances that fell their way in the 0-0 draw with Mouloudia Club d’el Eulma in the CAF Champions League round of sixteen first leg duel in Algeria over the weekend.

He told Kumasi-based Angel FM that although it was a difficult mission to accomplish, his players should have fetched his side at least a goal with some of the chances created.

"We could have scored at least a goal if we had been a little bit purposeful upfront. A game is supposed to be intense. You don’t walk through like you’re walking through a park. The intensity has to be there always. There is no easy game.’’

The former Hearts Of Oak and Great Olympics trainer praised young attacker Dauda Mohammed for tormenting Eulma’s defence.

"He is young and so he has a lot of energy, and very strong on the ball. His attacks from our left slowed their build up from their right and the overlapping attributes from their lateral defender.’’

He emphasized that the Porcupine Warriors are yet to qualify, noting that there are more work to be done on the team ahead of the second leg.

"It’s not done yet. There’s more to be done, and that’s what we’re focusing on.’’

A win in Kumasi in two weeks time will see Asante Kotoko qualify to the next stage of the competition.
