Duffour foundation and Black Stars donate to 3 orphanages in Kumasi

Duffour foundation and Ghana’s senior national team the Black Stars have donated food items to the Kumasi Children’s home, sister of Charity and and other national orphanage homes in the Ashanti region.

The donation was also supported by Unibank the main sponsors of the Blacks Stars.

The team led by Captain Asamoah Gyan donated bags of rice, gallons of oil, cartons of milk, toiletries and other items to the home before they headed to training later on.

The donation according to the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is part of their contribution towards showing love and care for the poor children.

“This donation comes from our heart, we are here to tell you we love you guys and will continue to support you from our heart so that you grow up to be responsible citizens,’’ Saani Daara said.

Assistant Supervisor of Kumasi Children’s Home Mabel Boamah, who received the items on behalf of the Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection commended the Black Stars and Duffour Foundation for the kind gesture.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection and our children at the Kumasi children’s home, I wish to say thank you very much to Ghana Black Stars, Duffour Foundation and UniBank major sponsors of the Ghana Black Stars, may God Bless you for your kind gesture,’ she said.

Adding “in fact we are so happy, seeing you here interacting with the children alone gives them hope that they can also grow up to become somebody in the our society’’.

In a related development, the Duffuor Foundation sponsored the surgeries of Fortune Ameveadzi and Moses Kwaku Ayensu.

Fortune is a 16 year-old patient of the National Cardiothoracic Centre who has been diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a critical hole in heart condition which requires 5000 dollars to under goes successful surgery.

Little Moses is also a 5 month old who was born with two webbed thumbs which will also cost him 5,000 Ghana cedis for a surger.

With the Duffuor Foundation’s support, children with these problems are expected to successfully undergo corrective surgeries in the coming days.
