Duclos wins Accra Motor-Cross Race

Accra, May 14, GNA- Alain Duclos of France scored three points, to win the Second Annual Accra International Motocross Championship Race held at Ashalley Botwe, near Accra on Sunday. Pascal Vierrot of Cote d'Ivoire came second with seven points, while Peter Pierrot of Ghana, the defending champion, placed third with eight points.

In the Juniors event, Jordan Aquerrdewu, a Togolese came first, Rodolph Noulin of Ghana placed second with the third position going to Antoine Napoleoni of Togo.

Nineteen competitors from Ghana, Togo, France, Benin, Burk,ina Faso and Cote d'Ivoire, took part in the competition. It was organized by the Accra Motor Club, and was jointly sponsored by Promasidor Ghana Limited, Pens and Plastic Ghana Limited and Surf Publications, with support from P.W. Ghana Limited and Desimone Ghana Limited.

Mr Eddie Speller Nassar, President of the Accra Motor Club, was happy about the performance put up by the competitors. He said the aim of the event, was to popularise the sport in Ghana. Mr Nassar called on corporate bodies and institutions to help develop it.

Mr Kwabena Asamoah, Communications Director of Promamsidor Ghana:Limited said the event would be extended to the other regions to make it more popular.
