Mas-Ud ‘Didi’ Dramani, Head Coach of Asante Kotoko has blamed his team’s exit from the 2013 Orange CAF Champions League to the loss of concentration by his players in the closing stages.
The Porcupine Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw by Algerian side JSM Bejaia but the latter advanced on the away goal rule on aggregate. Below are excerpts of Dramani’s interview with Cafonline.com after the match;
What happened to your team?
Mas-Ud ‘Didi’ Dramani: It is unfortunate. We were hoping to keep a clean sheet by not conceding a goal after scoring the first goal. But loss of concentration in the closing stages cost us as the Algerians scored.
Your team dominated but failed to convert numerous chances?
Mas-Ud ‘Didi’ Dramani: Exactly, it has to do with a little bit of confidence on the part of the players. We had too many chances and going forward, a loss of concentration allowed them to score.
Are you satisfied with the performance of your team?
Mas-Ud ‘Didi’ Dramani: There were some issues tactically and the performance of the group. Collectively, it was not the best of performances.
What is your assessment of JSM Bejaia?
Mas-Ud ‘Didi’ Dramani: They are a tactical side. They sat back and soaked the pressure, and tried to cut through.
