Dr Baah-Nuakoh chairs LOC for CAA region II Athletics championship in Accra

Ghana's Sports Ministry has inaugurated the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Region II Senior Athletics Championships, slated to take place in Ghana next month.

The ceremony, held at the Sports Ministry, saw Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, the General Manager of Strategy and Investment at the Ghana National Petroleum Authority (GNPC), appointed as the Chairman of the LOC.

He will be assisted by Charles Osei Assibey, the Vice President for Administration at Ghana Athletics, as the Vice Chairman, along with nine others who will oversee the organization of the competition in Accra.

The four-day competition, scheduled from June 3 to June 6, will take place at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Ghana is expected to host over 400 athletes from 15 countries within the ECOWAS sub-region to compete in this event.

This event holds particular significance as it will serve as a qualifier for the Paris Olympics this summer.
