Dossena wants Black Stars re-union

Giuseppe Dossena wants a return as Black Stars coach almost a decade after he was booted out in controversial circumstances.

The Italian, one of the most charismatic figures to have led the Black Stars has filed an application at the offices of the Ghana Football Association and is now one of over 120 coaches vying for the job.

The 52-year old recently took charge of Ethiopian champions Saint George, only his second job on the continent after beginning his coaching career with the Black Stars in 1998 before he was fired in 2000 after Ghana could only make the quarter finals of the 2000 Nations Cup it co-hosted.

He has managed Albania since leaving the Black Stars, assisted Cesare Maldini at the 2002 World Cup for Paraguay in addition to working in Saudi Arabia.

He had been without a coaching job since 2004 until his recent appointment by Saint George.

The Ghana Football Association has not put a time frame on the appointment of a new coach.
