Dormahene launches Fund for Aduana FC

Dormaa -Ahenkro, (B/A) Sept. 8, GNA - The Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeayo Agyemang Badu II, Life Patron of Aduana Football Club on Tuesday launched a multi-million Ghana cedi Fund to provide financial support for the sustainance of the Club as it prepares to enter the 2009/2010 Premier League.

About GHC37, 000 was realized immediately after the launch whilst the Dormaa Municipal Assembly and several other individuals made pledges in cash and in kind.

The Dormaahene Agyeman Badu donated GHC10, 000 to the Fund whilst the Member of Parliament for Dormaa-West, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu gave GHC1000, a set of jerseys and five footballs to the team. The Dormaa Municipal Chief Executive, Vincent Oppong-Asamoah donated GHC 1000 whilst the former B/A Regional Chairman of New Patriotic Party, Mr Kwadwo Yeboah Fordjour gave GHC500 and four pairs of boots and a set of jerseys.

Other donors included the B/A Regional Secretariat of the NDC - GHC500 and the Dormaahene's wife - GHC200. Osagyefo Agyeman Badu in a speech at the launch urged all adults in the Traditional Area to embrace the team's qualification to the premiership by not only donating cash but also to support it during league matches both at home and away.

Mr Agyemang-Manu appealed to the people in the area to donate GHC1.00 each month towards the upkeep of the Club. The MCE announced that rehabilitation works on the Dormaa stadium has begun in earnest to put it in good shape for the use of visiting teams, match officials and spectators. 08 Sept. 09
