Dont Judge FA with Black Stars Achievements- Abe Pobi

Astute football administartor and former chairman of Neoplan Stars Mr. Abe Pobi say Ghanains should not rate the performance of the Ghana Football Association with the achievements of the various national teams especially the Black Stars since the latter can grossly be attributed to the work of governments.

Mr.Pobi emphasised that, with much attention of Ghanaians on the Black Stars in particular, adequate financial assistance has been coming from government coffers which has made the running of the national teams very easy. He said since the current FA takes credit for the state of the Black Stars, it must as well take blame for the continuous deterioration of local football which they have shun away from because of the difficulty in running it.

Mr. Pobi said the prevoius government having noticed the importance of qualifying the team for the World cup finals did everything possible by pumping enough financial resource into the Black Stars so the FA had little to do, and claimed the situation was not different from the current government's effort in the just ended world cup.

Speaking in an interview with Sunyani based Dinpa Fm, the FA executive committee member pointed out that it would be very difficult to contest Mr. Nyantakyi for the Presidency seat now since funds are readily available for him to sail his way through as an incument, and warned all those readying to vye for the position. The FA is scheduled to conduct elections in 2011.
