Don't kill off my World Cup dream -Bra Laryea

LARYEA KINGSTON insists he is happy at Hearts but will never compromise on his dream of playing at the World Cup Finals.

Jambos boss Csaba Laszlo has questioned the commitment of his star midfielder to the club as he has failed to feature this season because of injury.

But Kingston was still fit enough to play the last 20 minutes for Ghana on Sunday as they booked their place in South Africa with a 2-0 win over Sudan in Accra.

Kingston's advisers from Russian-based ProSports Management held talks with Hearts earlier this week and insist talks aimed at resolving "little problems" will conclude positively within 24 hours.

Agent Ayrat Imamov says his client is happy at Tynecastle and that informal talks have already been held with Kingston on an extension to his deal which expires at the end of the season.

Kingston, 28, missed World Cup 2006 in Germany as a result of suspension and confessed he is desperate not to be on the outside looking in again - even if it puts him on a collision course with Laszlo.

Kingston said: "The coach seems to think I struggle to cope with the demands of both my club football and playing at international level but I disagree. "I've been worried by injury and gradually I am better now.

"I have been doing my club football side by side with the Black Stars for five years and it is not the reason I get injured. Even when I was playing in Russia, which is further from Ghana, I still kept up my commitment to my nation.

"I'm happy at Hearts but my international career means everything to me and there's no way I will sacrifice it, especially with a World Cup to play."

Kingston's sub appearance against Sudan was his first for the Black Stars in a year.

Laszlo told Hearts shareholders last week he was growing increasingly impatient with the playmaker favouring country over club.

But agent Imamov has moved to dampen speculation on Kingston's future and said: "I spoke to the club management a couple of days ago. "We will find a positive solution to some little problems by the end of the week. They aren't major issues but we want to resolve them.

"I've promised the Hearts management Laryea will show everything for them this season.

"His contract ends next summer and we are discussing possibilities for the future.

"Laryea is happy at the club, his family are in Edinburgh and if we find a solution with the club anything is possible.

"Everyone - management and fans - knows he is one of the best players in the league.

"They saw when he came on loan he was as good as Shunsuke Nakamura."
