Doku fired up for WBC Silver title in Mexico

Young Prince Doku Jr faces the sternest test of his career when he fights unbeaten Mexican Roberto Ortiz for the vacant WBC Silver Light Welterweight belt on November 19 at the Acapulco, Guerrerro, Mexico.

Doku (14-3, 10 KOs), takes on Ortiz (21-0-1, 18 KOs) in what will be only his second fight outside Ghana having lost to Russian Aslanbek Kozaev two years ago when he challenged for the WBC Youth Intercontinental Welterweight title.

But the 24 year old Ghanaian is adamant he will return from Mexico a winner, vowing to call the bluff of the 25 year old Ortiz who will also enjoy massive home support.

“I’m ready for the big time, I’m ready to rule the world and nothing can stop me now. I’ve been training really hard and I’m prepared for anything he throws at me.

“I’ve seen some of his fights and I must admit he is a tough guy but I am also tough and I ask my fans to support me with their prayers because this is my time,” Prince Doku told ALL SPORTS.
