Do Kotoko need fundraising under the current administration?

Fundraising is the best option for the poor or it is a financial assistance to any less endowed needy.

Fundraising to me is normally done by an individual personality who needs the help of many to assist him in establishing his agenda. For instance, Didier Drogba recently did a fundraising in the UK for his hospital project.

Non-fertile companies who are on feeding bottles are the ones who make fundraising their priority. Any growing liability company doesn't settle on fundraising for the settlement of their debts. How old is Kotoko as a limited liability company? How far have they reached as the greatest supported club in Ghana?

l was sad to hear from Listowell Yesu Bukarson, the public relation officer of this great club on Accra based Oman FM that the board chairman of the club, Dr. K.K. Sarpong has approved the decision to embark on a nationwide fundraising to settle the debt of 99,000 Euros owed their former coach Hans Dieter Schmidt.

Kotoko, under this current administration, by far is the best in terms of professional ways of doing things and to consider the kind of the sponsorship they have acquired so far, is 99,000 Euros so huge for the K.K. Sarpong led administration that they have to do fundraising before they can settle this debt?

If yes, then what’s the need of all the six sponsors who got attached to Kotoko since Dr. K.K. Sarpong took over, Smart TV, INTERPLAST,MTN, FIDELITY BANK, EVER PURE and that big insurance company? Also, what about the sales of some key players as Nathaniel Asamoah, Awal Mohammed and co?

Though Listowell did say that Dr. Sarpong is aware of that fund raising move, l don’t want to believe that he is indeed aware. It could be that from the supporters own free will they want to help Dr. Sarpong in settling out this debt.

One could say that there is nothing wrong if Kotoko do fundraising, yes true though but one has to know that Kokoto have come of age and the club at this moment goes beyond this fundraising thing before a debt could be settled. Even Dolphin FC of Nigeria won’t do that.

Few supporters of the club can settle this debt indoors. The days of doing fund raising, to me, ought to be dead for Kotoko. Kotoko is music music, it sends bad feed out there to the other bigger African clubs. It is my opinion though but it is a fact.
