Footy-ghana.com can confirm that referees who officiate in Division One League matches have been paid the second installment of officiating fees and allowances owed them over the last three seasons.
According to our sources, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) paid an amount of GH¢46,000 to the referees on Tuesday.
The GFA last month paid out GH¢51,700 last month as the first part payment.
Footy-ghana.com understands that the GFA was able to make the payments due to the amount of money raised from affiliation fees paid by Division One League clubs.
Every Division One League club was required to pay GH¢2,000 each as affiliation fees for this season.
Footy-ghana.com has however learnt that despite the payments, the referees are still owed an amount of GH¢255,000.
Sources close to the referees told footy-ghana.com that they expect to be paid a minimum of 60% of the arrears due them by the end of the season.
