Derek Boateng wants to stay on at Getafe

Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng has poured cold water on rumours linking him to a move to FC Dnipro by insisting he wants to respect his contract with Getafe.

Reports have emerged that the 28-year-old is on the verge of sealing a massive deal to the Ukrainian side from the Spanish La Liga.

FC Dnipro are prepared to pay US$8.5 as transfer fee for Ghana international.

He has a contract with Getafe until 2013 and a buyout clause of 15 million euros.

But the former FC Cologne player says he will love to continue with the Madrid-based side.

“I’m in no rush to move to any club. I have a contract with Getafe and they have done everything I ask from them for me. Last season we had to fight and escape relegation so I am thinking about helping the team next season” Boateng told Accra-based Joy FM.

He has also been linked with moves to English sides Bolton Wanderers, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion.
