Derek Boateng regrets not checking on Agogo before his death

A former player of the national football team, Derek Boateng, has regretted not being in touch with Agogo before his death.

Boateng also blamed his colleague players for shunning Agogo when he needed them most.

He described it as wrong which needed not to be so, as sighted by YEN.com.gh in a report by Citinewsroom.com.

An obviously distraught Boateng confessed that the love that is shown to each other when the players were in the camp, is very different from when the disperse.

According to him, each player goes his own way and not check up on the other like they did in the camp, a habit he said was very wrong.

“When we are in camp, we show love to everyone. But, normally when we move from camp, it’s not the same, which is very wrong,” Boateng reportedly said.

He further called on his colleague footballers to constantly check up on each other, stressing that life is short.

“Now it is sad that I am saying all this after he is gone. This is bad, I should have checked on him. The other players should have checked on him too, I feel very bad,” Derek Boateng cried.

Agogo died painfully on Thursday, August 22, in London, after suffering stroke since 2015.

Since his death, many tributes have been pouring out to him, including some of his former team maters, Asamoah Gyan, and Michael Essien.

Essien was in trouble for a comment he passed about Agogo after his death, and many people did not fail to attack him.
