Dede Ayew Leads In Swag Top Footballer Award Polls

Andre Morgan Dede Ayew, son of the Maestro of African Football, Abedi Pele Ayew is leading comfortably in the polls for the 2010 SWAG Footballer of the year, SportsInGhana.com can exclusively reveal.

A special survey conducted by yours truly has revealed that the son of the Maestro is the man most likely to grab the 2010 Footballer of the year, unless there is a twist.

Dede Ayew who has been very consistent since 2008, when he was introduced into the Black Stars by Coach Claude Le Roy, captained the Black Satellites to win the World Youth Cup for Africa in Egypt in2009.

He was also the talisman of the Black Stars at the Angola 2010 African Nations Cup where Ghana was second, and he played a great role to see the Black Stars reach the quarter final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Dede was also sensational for his club, Olympique Marseille in France whom he led to win the French Cup and did well, but missed the League title by a whisker. He however banged in more goals to become Ghana’s top scorer in Europe at the end of the 2010/11 season.

Dede Ayew was named among the top five players for the 2010 Africa Best Footballer and among the short listed top three for the BBC Africa Footballer of the year. He was nominated for the French best player award, but missed out; however, he won the Marseille best player award.

In Ghana, Andre Dede Ayew is becoming an idol like his father.

At only 21 years old, he stands the chance of winning more laurels for Ghana. Already he has predicted a win for Ghana in the next African Cup to be played in Gabon.
