Prodigious Ghanaian youngster David Boateng was at the thick of affairs for Crystal Palace on Tuesday night as he neatly set up a goal for Crystal Palace in their 2-2 drawn game with AFC Wimbledon.

The 18-year-old was introduced by the Eagles after the break to play as a lateral defender and he proved his quality with world-class assist for Brandon Pierrick who had initially scored the opener of the game.

Boateng, formerly on the books of the Arsenal Academy, took matters into his hands when the game was packed at one-all as he dummied his marker inside the area, beat another with an intelligent play, before skirting the ball round for the on-rushing Pierrick who fired past the Wimbledon keeper.

He has been playing at Palace from Under-8 when he joined from Arsenal.
