Ghana striker David Accam has admitted that he is far from his best shape but has promised to work harder to regain his scoring form and start banging in the goals for his club, Chicago Fire.
The 24-year-old, who scored 17 goals in 25 appearances for Helsingborg last season, is yet to open his goal account for Chicago Fire after featuring in two MLS matches against San Jose Earthquakes and Toronto FC.
“It’s difficult for me. I am not in my best shape yet, but I am really impressed with the way I played. I know when I get into my best shape I will start scoring goals and also get more impact for the team (Fire),” Accam told reporters in a post-match interview.
Accam made a strong impression in the 3-2 win over Toronto FC on Saturday as he taunted the defenders of the opponents, who made the Black Stars attacker the most fouled player on the pitch.
