Cricket League commences on August 28

Accra, Aug. 11, GNA - The Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) will on August 28, commence a Cricket League dubbed, 93Accra Invitational League= " at the Achimota Cricket Oval.

The competition, which will run till the end of October, is aimed at identifying and grooming talents for the national team.

Information gathered from the secretariat of the GCA by GNA Sports reveals that 10 Clubs are expected to participate in the novelty League. Among the Clubs featuring in the League are; Qualiplast, Melcom Group= , Sneda, RAV Solutions, Tennis XI, Super Max, Veterans and Poly- group. Meanwhile the GCA will hold a Cricket Clinic for the Northern and Southern Sectors of the country very soon.

According to the Association, the Northern Sector will have schools from Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions participating in the clinic at the Ashgold Cricket Oval, Obuasi, from Augus= t 18-20. Participants will be taken through, video presentation of the game as well as a practical session with the aim of building a solid foundation for the understanding and interest of the youth about the sport. The clinic is also aimed at sustaining growing interest of the game in the country.
