An Accra High Court has adjourned hearing for an injunction application filed against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) by the Attorney-General Department to July 12, 2018.

The case was adjourned to allow lawyers for defendant (GFA) to respond to the application by the Attorney-General after the expiration of 10-day injunction on all football activities in the country which also barred the GFA and its officials from carrying out any official duties within the stipulated time.

In their first court appearance on Monday, the A-G filed sought to pursue another application for a motion on notice to extend the injunction.

But the lawyer for the GFA, Mr Abu Juan, said lawyers for the football association were served with the new application last Friday, as they therefore needed time to examine the suit and pleaded with the court to adjourned the case to allow lawyers for the GFA file their response to the A-G’s latest application.

The action by the A-G comes after an expose on corruption in Ghana football by ace investigator Anas Aremeyaw Anas in which various top people in the FA hierarchy were involved in series of bribery incident with many of them resigning from their post.
