Couple donate to sports development in Dormaa

A Ghanaian couple resident in Singapore, Malaysia, has presented sporting equipment to the Dormaa District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service and the Aduana Football Club, a second division club in Dormaa Ahenkro in Brong Ahafo.

Mr Samuel Kyeremeh and his wife, Faustina, are both citizens of Dormaa Ahenkro.

The items, worth about 8.3 million cedis, consist 141 medals, 26 silver cups and two sets of jerseys.

Mrs Kyeremeh, who made the presentation, said the donation was out of their appreciation for the role sports play in national development.

"Our donation is, therefore, our modest contribution to the promotion of sports in the district", she said.

Mrs Kyeremeh appealed to the Directorate and the Club to make good use of the equipment to promote sporting activities.

Mr Augustine Ampaabeng-Kyeremeh, District Director of Education and Mr Ankamah Lomotey, Chairman of the Club, who received the items appealed to individuals, churches and organisations to emulate the couple and donate generously towards the development of sports in the district.

Mr Emmanuel Duku, Dormaa District Chief Executive (DCE) who presided advised sportsmen and women to exhibit true sportsmanship and discipline during competitions.
