Former Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, Yaw Boateng Gyan has emphasized that some club officials in Ghana influence the head of the Referee Appointment Committee.

Gyan hinted that the corruption in Ghana football is massive that some club officials choose referees they want to handle their games.

“Some of the club officials go to the head of the Referee Appointment Committee and tell them that they have already spoken to some referees and that they want them to handle their games,” Gyan told footballmadeinghana.com

“My experience in football as an administrator for 38 years and I have never seen such corrupt era in Ghana football like this,”

“This corrupt act just started some few years ago. I know what I am saying and I have lots of instances to back it,”

There have been series of times in which clubs have come out that referees who handles their games have affiliations to their opponents.
