President Kufuor returns home

Accra, April 18, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor, returned home last night after a week's working visit to the United States of America (USA).

[The president was away for 10 days]

The visit was on the invitation of US President George W. Bush. The two leaders discussed bilateral issues and Ghana's progress in accessing the Millennium Challenge Account.

Other topics discussed included Ghana's role as a non-permanent member of the Security Council of the United Nations, and the menace of HIV/AIDS.

President Kufuor was met on arrival by Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Ministers of State, Lt Gen Joseph B. Danquah, Chief of Defence Staff, Mr Patrick Kwarteng Acheampong, Inspector General of Police, and other service commanders.
