Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed says the safety of his colleague footballers remains a bigger priority than for him to win the Ghana Premier League goal king gong.

The veteran Ghanaian striker currently trails leading goal scorer Victorien Adebayor by just a goal after netting 11 times in the 2019-20 season.

The two were engaged in a hot race for the one of the most coveted individual prizes in Ghana football and Mohammed says he is confident he has what it takes to usurp the Nigerien attacker who plays for Inter Allies.

But with the season suspended due to the CoronaVirus pandemic, Yahaya Mohammed has admitted that the safety of footballers and human lives in general, matter more at the moment and focus should be on that.

He told Citi Sports, “I am a human being and I will feel a bit disappointed because it’s one of my targets to win the goal king this season and all of a sudden this virus came in. But I am thinking about human life not what I will achieve”.

On how he plans to stay in shape and be ready for whenever football returns, Yahaya Mohammed has revealed he will focus on his training methods that helped him flourish during the campaign and ill also go by the recommendations of Aduana Stars’ coaches.
