Convicted armed robber Ayi Ayittey popularly known as Ataa Ayi captained a group of prisoners to win a football match against a team from ATL FM on New Year’s Day.

Ataa Ayi who is serving a 160-year jail term for terrorizing Ghanaians with his gang of robbers was a delight to watch as the Ankaful Maximum Prison secured a 4-3 win over the Cape Coast-based radio station.

The game marks the annual Care Project initiated by ATL FM aim at cheering and motivating inmates of prisoners as they undergo reform.

The victory of the Ankaful prisoners was to avenge a 2-1 defeat suffered last year.

Ataa Ayi has been made the lead spokesperson for all persons serving jail terms in Ghana.

He famously had an interaction with President John Mahama in 2015 during his tour of facilities of the Prisons Service.

The event had gospel musicians Yaw Sarpong and the Asomafo to entertain inmates.
