Kintampo(B/A), Aug 12, - Members of the 31st December Women's Movement in the Kintampo district have initiated a number of projects to improve upon their living standard. The district organizer, Mrs Cecilia Addae, told the Ghana News Agency at Kintampo that members have cultivated cowpea, maize and groundnuts and established teak and cashew plantations in some of the communities. She listed some of them as Alhassan-Akura, Nkwanta, Asantekwaa, Mansei and Busuama. Mrs Addae said members at the Sunkwa electoral area at Kintampo have also started soap making. She said the movement produces groundnuts and cassava in large quantities in the district and intends going into gari processing and ground-oil extraction. She appealed to the national secretariat of the movement and non- governmental organizations to provide the women with grinding machines to boost production.
