Coca-Cola/Stanbic Invitational Tournament ends in Kumasi

Kumasi, March 20, GNA - Kumasi-based pair of golfers, Martin Poku and Gizela Palmer scored 65 points to win Coca-Cola/Stanbic Golf Invitational tournament.

Obuasi-based Raina Nagere and Prince Amponsah took the second position with a score of 67 points.

The champion pair of Poku and Palmer were presented with a giant trophy, golf bags and other souvenirs while the runners up also received a trophy and souvenirs from the sponsors. The one-day tournament ended at the Kumasi Royal Golf Course on Saturday with most of the golfers demonstrating great skills and determination to win most of the lucrative prizes at stake. The 18-hole event saw about 90 amateur golfers from Kumasi, Obuasi, Greater Accra and Sekondi-Takoradi participating in the tournament.

Mike Boateng and Vivien Duke both from Kumasi with a score of 70 came third and were presented with a trophy and some souvenirs. Mr Edward Commey, Manager in-charge of Corporate and Investment Banking of Stanbic commended the participants for their efforts and urged them to train hard for future competitions. 20 March 11
