Coach decides who is number one - Kwarasey

Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey says he is not in a hurry to tag himself as the number one for the Black Stars despite starting the team's World Cup campaign in post.

Kwarasey made his debut at the World Cup with a 1-2 defeat to the USA in Natal on Monday.

He told GNA Sports that "Coach decides who the number one is but of course, I will like to play every match. There was not much work for me to do against the USA, but it was ok and that is it."

The goalkeeper who has featured 21 times for the Black Stars since earning a call-up in 2011 said “It feels good to be part of the game. Of course, I am happy I have the chance to experience the World Cup. It is a fantastic feeling."

Kwarasey, 26, has laboured to come to terms with the defeat to the Americans; "We got out there to win, we controlled the game but, unfortunately, we could not get the results we wanted."

But insists"We cannot give up as painful as the defeat to USA is. We have to work harder for the next two games, beginning with Germany on Saturday."

Ghana play Germany in the second Group G game in Fortaleza on Saturday in a must win match if the Black Stars are to avoid a first round elimination.
