Coach Odoom lauds Hearts players but maintains they’re a work in progress

Head coach of Accra Hearts of Edward Nii Odoom has lauded his players following their magnificent comeback at the Carl Reindorf park to defeat Liberty Professionals in matchday 5 of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.

Liberty took the lead in the opening minutes of the game through Micheal Sefa and defended thoroughly throughout the game till the last five minutes when their former striker Bernard Arthur restored parity for the Phobians.

Kofi Kodzi struck the winner for Hearts to cushion the maximum three points for the Rainbow club.

Odoom who has just lost one out of 4 games in charge noted that the team is a work in progress.

The coach also hailed the character and resilience of his players have come from a goal down to win the day.

“We are a work in progress at the moment and the players are showing determination, good character and the will to win,” coach Odoom said.

He added, “In terms of the tactics we used to win today’s match, we went with something similar to what we did at WAFA. We defended deeply but we decided to edge a counter-attacking threat to us and on play on the break.”

Hearts of Oak will host their long term rivals Asante Kotoko in their next encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
