Two time Ghana Basketball Coach of the Year Lawal Brimah has fingered development as a key area for young player to improve.

He made the statement in an interview with Basketballghana.com during the Volta Region leg of the Sprite Ball Trophy Tour and Clinic.

The veteran trainer was adamant participants-including students from qualified schools to next year’s national competition-should focus on the basics to become better players.

“Some of them are lacking the footwork so we just gave them the basics so that they know the basics of the footworks so that they can train on their own” he said.

The clinic took place during the Trophy Tour which had the famous Sprite Ball Title touch base at several schools including Mawuli Senior High School and Awudome Senior High School; both schools will represent the Volta Region in 2018.

The next Sprite Ball takes place from January 4-6, 2018 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra with 16 teams featuring in the boys division and 10 featuring in the girls division.
