Coach Attuquayefio grateful to all

'Sir' Cecil Jones Attuquayefio has expressed appreciation to all who made the testimonial match played in his honour at the Accra Sports Stadium last Friday a success.

A statement signed by the veteran and renowned coach said “During my long career as a footballer, an administrator and a coach, I enjoyed a lot of support from the sporting fraternity. But in this celebration of my career, the nation showed me love beyond measure.

“I am very grateful to every Ghanaian and indeed every individual who made it to my testimonial match and those who supported it from afar”. The coach stated.

Coach Attuquayefio also expressed appreciation to the sponsors, donors, well-wishers, the media and the organizers, for creating such a special atmosphere on the night.

The coach did not leave out Accra Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, Liberty Professionals, Great Olympics and his colleagues including footballers, administrators and coaches for the wonderful ovation they offered him.

“For a very long time, I was on the pitch once again with the whole stadium chanting my name, it was indeed an emotionally charged night that moved me to tears.

“To be honest, the feeling is hard to put into words, and that will be the bit I will always think about and I wish to say a special thank you to my family; wife and children for being my pillar all these years.” The statement added.

Primeval Consult in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) organized a charity match in aid of the renowned coach between the Black Stars and a select side called 'Friends of Jones Attuquyaefio', it ended in a draw.**
