Ghana striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has said getting a lot of first team experience was the foremost reason why he chose to join Spanish side Elche on loan from Juventus last summer.
The 20-year-old has been a hit for the newly-promoted La Liga side scoring thrice so far.
“A couple of hours to the close of the transfer market in the summer I signed for Elche because at my age I wanted to play,” Boakye told TMW. “It's best not to stay on the bench. Though I initially wanted to stay at Juventus and have the opportunity to win a title, but at the end I decided to go out on loan.”
Boakye-Yiadom, who is also a transfer target of Werder Bremen, could be granted a place in Juventus by Antonio Conte alongside Simone Zaza if he continues with his fine form.
