Clubs Vote To Boycott League Over EOCO Raid

All football clubs in Ghana have voted unanimously to boycott all matches in the country until investigations by Economic and Organised Crime Unit (EOCO) have been completed.

The outcome of an executive committee meeting of the GFA is expected later on Wednesday is to take the final decision on the next line of action.

EOCO carried out a raid on the Ghana Football Association on Tuesday and confiscated computers and documents.

Agents were looking for information on commercial sponsorship agreements and had a court order allowing the operation.

But the action seems to have angered the clubs who insist they want EOCO investigation resolved before league action continues.

Some worried clubs think the GFA board has been subjected to unfair treatment after rejecting an imposition by government.

The action has left the future of Ghana football uncertain as the home-based national team has been disbanded.
