Chief presents set of jersey to school

Amanfrom (Ash), March 11, GNA - Nana Osei Kwadwo, Pampaso Krontihene of Kumasi, on Wednesday presented a set of jersey costing 1.5 million cedis to Osei Kwadwo Junior Secondary School (JSS) at Amanfrom in the Kwabre District towards the development of the school. Nana Osei Kwadwo, who is also an educationist, said he had already donated eight chairs and four tables for teachers and four cupboards worth two million cedis to the school.

The chief said though he started the JSS as private institution in 1990 but was taken over by the government in 1995, he continued to provide support for the school.

Nana Kwadwo noted that education was the foundation for national development, and urged parents to invest in the education of their children to enable them to acquire knowledge and skills required for national development.

Mr Appiah Boakye, headteacher of the school, commended Nana Kwadwo for seeking the development of the community by establishing the school and contributing to its improvement.

The headteacher, who is also assembly member for Brofoyeduru electoral area, gave the assurance that he would complement the chief's efforts by promoting sports, teaching and learning in the JSS.

The headteacher, urged the students to learn hard so that they could pass their examinations to justify the huge investment being made by their individuals, parents and government in their education. Mr Boakye appealed to other opinion leaders to emulate the chief's effort to ensure the development of education in the area.
