Celebrity Golf host Tafo Golf Club on June 16

Tema, June 2, GNA - Celebrity Golf Club will meet Tafo Golf Club in an inter-club friendly encounter at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema on Saturday, June 16. Mr Ato Enndman, Club Manager of the Celebrity Golf Club who announced this at Tema on Saturday, said the one-day 18-Hole Match Play was aimed at strengthening the already existing cordial relations between the two clubs.

He said plans are far advanced for the Club to play other golf clubs in and outside country to improve on the performance of its members.

Mr Enndman said some of the golfers who will be playing for Celebrity Club will includes Abdul-Aziz Amankwa, the April Medal champion, Theophilus Asampong and Joe Ohemeng, Captain of the Club. Meanwhile, Kwame Krunzu returned a net score of 70 to win the Club's May Medal Open championship played at Sakumono on Saturday. Akwasi Poku took the second position with 70 net, losing on count-back to Krunzu while Theophilus Asampong placed third with 71 net. Beatrice Harringtong won the Ladies Event with 72 net while Juliette Tuakil came second with 94 net. Mr Yoofi Korsah, Immediate Past Captain of the Celebrity Golf Club was assisted by Mrs Freda Tandoh, Co-Founder of the Club to give prizes to the deserving winners. 02 June 07
