Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou has confirmed the death of his 15-month-old son, Kobe.
The 37-year-old mixed martial arts fighter and boxer from Cameroon announced the demise of his son on Monday, April 29, 2024.
"Too soon to leave but yet he's gone. My little boy, my mate, and my partner, Kobe was full of life and joy. Now, he's lying without life. I shouted his name over and over but he's not responding.
"I was my best self next to him and now I have no clue of who I am. Life is so unfair to hit us where it hurts the most."
Ngannou came from a poor background to become a UFC heavyweight champion before switching to boxing.
Some of his colleagues in the sport like Conor McGregor, and Isaac Dogboe have sent their condolences to him.
Ngannou's last bout was a heavy defeat to Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia.
