Cameroon can’t stop us - Black Princesses Coach

The coach of Ghana’s U-20 female football team, the Black Princess, Yussif Basigi has said that, his team is ready to beat Cameroon and qualify for the 2018 Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Women’s World Cup in France.

The Black Princesses drew one all with Cameroon in Yaounde, in the final first leg qualifier, a fortnight ago and they are poised to eliminate Cameroon to qualify to the biennial tourney.

Ghana would host Cameroon at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday, January 27 and coach Basigi, in an interview with the GNA Sports said, though Cameroon is a strong team and would offer stiff opposition, his team is in the best of shape to reach the finals.

“Cameroon to stop us? No way. We are not ready for that. We are more poised and prepared. The girls have psyched themselves to reach the finals because they know what is at stake and the team is not under any pressure to deliver.

“We are correcting our mistakes from the previous match against Cameroon and so far we are on course,” he stated.

When asked whether they are injury problems in camp, he replied “so far, we have no injuries and the girls are ready”.

Coach Basigi called on Ghanaians to turn up in their numbers on Saturday and give the team the needed support to win the crucial encounter.

Ghana will be chasing her fourth successive appearance at the global event.
