CK Akunnor begs fans to forgive Black Stars

Ex-Ghana captain CK Akunnor has called on exasperated home fans to be measured in their approach in order not to scuttle the country’s 2015 Nations Cup qualification campaign.

The Black Stars were apathetically received in Kumasi and that contributed in their unimpressive showcase which resulted in the 1-1 draw at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Akunnor says this trend, if sustained, might hurt the team in a bid to advance to Morocco next January.

“I understand the fans and their actions but we all have to be patient,” the former Wolfsburg skipper said.

“We have to be able to find a solution to this and get the fans back.

“Ghanaians love their football and it’s important we get them back behind the team as soon as possible.

"It was not nice what went on at the Baba Yara Sports stadium."
