The Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has splashed $1,000 payments on every Kano Pillars footballer.
Ganduje’s treat comes after Pillars became the 2019 Aiteo Cup champions, with the amount equalling to $40,000 for players and staff.
Pillars claimed the Cup success after 4-3 win on penalties against Niger Tornadoes fortnights ago.
“We are giving you this one thousand Dollar ($1,000) to each and every player, with members of your technical committee. I think your number is 40,” the Kano State governor told the club.
“This is just one out of other gestures to come your way.”
The club’s second finish behind Enyimba in the NPFL means CAF Champions League football, starting with the preliminary qualifier against Ghana’s Asante Kotoko on Saturday at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
