Bristol Rovers striker Bernard Mensah heading to fifth-tier side Aldershot Town

Bristol Rovers striker Bernard Mensah is expected to train with Aldershot Town on Monday.

Mensah is said to be interested in returning to north Hampshire just 12 months after leaving to sign for Rovers.

Shots manager Gary Waddock did not deny the attacking midfielder was on his way back.

"Sometimes I like to put people off the scent... is Bristol overseas?" he replied with a smile, before adding: "I thought Bristol was overseas."

Mensah made eight first team appearances for Bristol Rovers in the second half of the 2017-18 season after joining them last January.

He then made one more appearance for the League One club at the start of this season before joining Lincoln City on loan.
