Pretoria, South Africa, June 21, GNA - Brazilian referee Simon Carlos will be at the centre of affairs during the Black Stars Group D clash against Germany on Wednesday. Information gathered by GNA Sports from the FIFA Secretariat in Sandton, South Africa, indicates that Carlos will be at the helm of affairs during the Group final game. It will be the second time that Carlos, 44, and a professional referee will be handling a game involving the Black Stars at the Mundial.

The former reporter for Brazilian television channel, TV Guiaba, was at the centre during the Black Stars 0-2 loss to the Italian Azzuris in their opening match at the Germany 2006 FIFA World Cup tournament.

He will be assisted by compatriots Hausmann Altemir and Braatz Roberto, with Uruguayan Vazquez Martin acting as the fourth official. Pastorino Carlos, also from Uruguay will serve as the Assistant reserve referee. The Stars will wrap up their campaign at the group stage with that crucial confrontation with three-time world champions Germany at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg, needing at least a point to advance to the next round of the tournament. 21 June 10
