Bole United beats Japka Warriors 3 - 0 to win league

Bole United Football Club has emerged winners of the Bole League Championship after beating Mankuma Japka Warriors 3 – 0 on Sunday to lift the trophy.

All the three goals came in the second half after Japka Warriors failed to sustain the impressive performance put up in the first half to stop a determined Bole United side from scoring.

The 13-week championship organised by the Bole Football Association at Bole in the Northern Region involved nine competing teams all within the district.

The overall best player of the tournament went to Hassim Latif of Gold Stars; Dramani Adams of Soccer Heroes scored four goals to emerge the Goals King while Jakpa Warriors’ Awudu Adams was crowned the Best Goal Keeper of the tournament.

Presenting the trophy to the winners, Mr. James Jaaga, the Bole District Chief Executive (DCE) commended all participating teams for putting in their best effort which had helped made the competition a success.

He pledged the Assembly’s commitment to support the development of sports in the district to help unearth young talents for nurturing into bigger talents.

Bole Wura Mahama Awuladese Pontonprong II, Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area who was happy about the peaceful and exciting nature of the tournament pledged to release land for the construction of a sports complex at Bole to provide a platform for more talents to be unearthed in various sporting disciplines.

He said the competition brought a lot of exciting moments among both young and old and that any effort to develop sports in the district would be welcomed.

Alhaji Isaac Mumuni, DCE for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District who made a cash donation of GH?500.00 to support the refreshment of the players lauded the organizers of the tournament for a good job done.

He appealed to institutions and organizations to sponsor the league to help sustain and make it bigger and a recognized league in the near future.

Mr. Richard Forgor, Executive Secretary of the Bole FA thanked the Bole District Assembly for supporting the league, Alhaji Yussif for providing the trophy and the medals as well as transporting referees from Sawla every week to officiate the matches.

He also thanked the Bole Youth Development Association for supporting all participating teams with jerseys and Yagbon Water for providing drinking water as well as Bole Wura for his support.

He said discussion was ongoing with the Northern Regional FA to make the league a division three league to give opportunity to top teams of the league to compete with other teams for a place in the division one and the FA Cup.
