Boateng powers Rayo to first League win

Experienced Ghanaian Midfielder Derrick Boateng steered Rayo OKC to their first win of the season away against Miami in the MLS second tier.

The nomadic midfielder exploded into full life at the heart of the pitch in a thrilling 2-3 away triumph in the NASL clash.

Dereck Boateng mutually ended his stint with Spanish league side Eibar midway through a two-year deal before heading to America for a two-year deal with Rayo OKC in the second-tier league.

Rayo OKC endured a nightmarish start to their season in the opening match but needed just the one half of the game to score twice in an eventful clash with Miami on Saturday night.

Goals from Gonzalez and Rusu look set to split the points for the home team until another masterful pass from Derrick resulted in a late winner for Rayo OKC.

The experienced Ghanaian remains one of the grazing players on the continent having played in eight countries in his career so far.
