Black Stars to receive $90,000 each for winning trophy

Footy-ghana.com can confirm that each player of the Black Stars will receive a total of $90,000 if Ghana wins the 2015 African Nations Cup.

According to our sources, the players are due to be paid a qualification bonus of $30,000 each, after winning Group C and qualifying for the quarterfinals.

Footy-ghana.com understands that should Ghana defeat Guinea in Sunday’s quarterfinal, each player would receive $15,000 and a victory in the semifinal would net each player $20,000.

Each player in the team will earn $25,000 should Ghana win the final game and take the trophy.

In a related development, footy-ghana.com understands that the hierarchy of the Black Stars management committee is privately unhappy with the public comments of the deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, which sought to paint the picture that the players would be paid regardless of the outcome of a match.

Sources close to the Committee told footy-ghana.com that Hon. Asamoah’s comments had not only painted the players in a bad light, but had incited many Ghanaian fans against the team.
