Black Star B players say they are ready to take on their counterpart Burkina Faso in a CHAN qualifier which slated for August 12. As the CHAN qualifier gets close, 28 players have been selected from various clubs in the Ghana Premier League to represent Ghana.

The players are preparing feverishly at the Ghanaman Soccer Center in Prampram.

In an interview with Onua Sports at their training grounds, Asante Kotoko striker Saddick Adams says it has been a great training session and they are looking forward to the game. “The preparation has been good, because if you see the boys they are doing well and therefore we are ready.”

He added: “Though the game will be a tough game, our mentality and focus is that we are going there to secure a point or win because it is a two-legged game, so if we get a point there we’re going to come back hard in our home to make sure we get that qualification.” Another key figure of the local Black Stars team is Winful Cobbina, who plies his trade for Hearts of Oak.

He mentioned that the players are confident and believe they can secure all three points when they visit Burkina Faso next week.

“It will be a tough game but with the kind of training and preparations we are having, I think we can go there and win the game.” The local Black Stars have been runners-up twice in the competition in 2009 and 2014. They are therefore looking to win the ultimate for the first time in the tournament history.
