Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Asiamah has confirmed the Black Queens will play a couple of international friendly matches before the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The Queens are yet to play any international friendly since they began preparation for the competition.
Coach Bashiru Hayford’s side have only been involved in series of low-profile friendlies with some local Clubs.
Isaac Asiamah says measures have been put in place to have the team get a feel of international games before the competition begins on November 17.
“I know there have been reports the team will be playing some friendly matches with Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia, I want to assure you that things are being put in place to have those games,” he said during the unveiling of the mascot for the 2018 Women’s Cup of Nations.
“Even if not with these team, we will get equal competitive opponents to play with them, so I want to urge Coach not to worry about that at all.”
Ghana could not enjoy the privilege to play in the qualifiers having been handed the hosting rights.
