Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Ghana Black Queens, have safely arrived in the country after emerging champions of the Pink Ladies Cup in the United Arab Emirates on March 8, 2026.

The team touched down in Ghana following a successful campaign in the invitational tournament, where they recorded impressive victories over Russia and Hong Kong with 4-0 victories.

After two matches, the three-time WAFCON runners-up topped the table with six points, followed by Russia with three points, while Hong Kong and Tanzania trailed.

As a result, the Black Queens were crowned champions, making history as the first African country to clinch the Pink Ladies Cup title.

The competition served as preparation for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which was initially set for March but has been rescheduled to July–August due to unforeseen circumstances.

Despite concerns over tensions in parts of the Middle East, the Queens completed their trip without incident and returned home in high spirits after lifting the trophy.
