New Coach of Ghana’s Black Princesses Yussif Basigi has opened up on the criteria used in selecting the 30 players for camping.

The national U-20 female team will commence their World Cup qualifying campaign against their Algerian counterparts in September this year.

The players are expected to camp at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

According to Yussif Basigi, who previously led the Maiden to the FIFA World Cup in Jordan, the selection was based on the principles that have been laid down for Ghana’s female team.

“The transition that has been laid down is from Maidens to Princesses to Queens. So with this basis, we look at the Maidens who played at the World Cup in Jordan, they are not qualified to play for the Maidens again.

There are some of the players who also played for the Princesses previously who are still qualified to play again so we will look at them.

Finally, we have exceptional players who have not played in the National team before, who are also good and fit into the National team, so well will look at them as well.”

The players are expected to report to the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence on Monday 7th August 2017 at 4pm.
