Ghana’s Black Princesses finally bowed out of the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a 1-0 win over New Zealand.

Ruth Animah’s 75th-minute strike was what gave the Princesses maximum points at the Stade Guy Piriou in Concarneau on Sunday.

But Ghana had lost her two opening games in the tournament, first losing their opener 1-4 to France and later losing 0-4 to debutantes the Netherlands to make Sunday’s encounter a dead rubber.

New Zealand, however, had a slim chance of going through, having drawn goalless with France in the previous game.

But Yusif Basigi’s side left it late as they beat the Oceanians in the final group game.

The two sides, unfortunately, exit the tournament with France and the Dutch qualifying to the quarter-finals.
