Ghana’s U23 side – The Black Meteors – will leave Accra tonight for the second leg of the U23 AFCON Qualifier with their Algerian counterparts in Algiers.

The team will jet off at the Kotoka International Airport at 6:00 pm and transit through Ivory Coast where they will spend 5 hrs 30 minutes before connecting to Algeria.

The Ghanaians were held to a 1-1 draw at home in the first leg played in Accra on Friday.

Reports are that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has forced the technical team to travel with only 18 players, a decision that means Coach Ibrahim Tanko and his charges will have to further drop 5 of the players that played in the first leg.

The team is expected to arrive in Algeria on Monday for the game that comes off less than 24 hours after their arrival.

The return leg of the encounter comes off on Tuesday, September 10 and the Black Meteors will have a few hours to shake-up for the encounter.

Meanwhile, their Algeria counterparts left Ghana on Friday after the first leg with a private jet to Algeria awaiting the arrival of Ghana.
