Berekum Chelsea sack Pollack After Medeama Defeat.

Steve Pollack was sacked as Berekum Chelsea coach Sunday night after their 1-0 defeat to Medeama on match-day-4 of the Glo Premier League.

The champions have had a rather slow start after picking five points from a possible 12 and the defeat at home proved to be the Englishman's final day at the helm.

“We met him after the match and he has understood to leave the club. We thank him for his services during the period,” CEO Obed Nketiah told the club's website.

“We hope to work together again in future.”

Chelsea, after a busy transfer period where they recruited some expensive signings, were tipped to have started the season strongly but a string of disappointing results saw them drift out of the top four, though it's early days yet in the campaign.

The Berekum side are yet to name a substantive coach though it remains to be seen whether Orlando Wellington, who guided them to their debut league title last season would be recalled from leave.

They play Wassaman next Sunday in Sekondi.
